When to go

Spring and autumn are particularly good for walks, beaches and hiking. Summer is hot and humid, and the beach neighbourhoods are much busier.

Things to see and do

Walk along Haeundae and Gwangalli, and visit Jagalchi Market, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and Gamcheon Culture Village.

Practical tips

Busan stretches along the coast and mountains, so journeys between neighbourhoods can take time. Plan each day around one or two nearby areas.

Getting there and getting around

Busan has Gimhae International Airport and KTX connections to Seoul. Metro trains, buses and railway lines operate in the city.

Where to stay

Haeundae and Gwangalli suit seaside stays. Seomyeon is central and well connected, while Nampo is convenient for markets and the historic city centre.

What to try

Try fresh seafood, dwaeji gukbap, milmyeon and fish dishes at Jagalchi Market.
