When to go

Late spring to early autumn is usually suitable for hiking, but snow and rapid weather changes are possible even outside winter. Check trail conditions, the forecast and daylight hours.

Things to see and do

Choose a marked route through the valley and look for stone huts, dry-stone walls, pastures and river landscapes. Length and difficulty should suit your experience and the conditions.

Practical tips

There are no roads in the valley, so beyond the starting points you continue only on foot. Bring a map or navigation device, water, and warm and waterproof clothing, and do not leave the paths.

Getting there and getting around

From Andorra la Vella or Escaldes, take a bus, taxi or car to a suitable starting point, then continue on foot. Clarify parking, the return journey and the route in advance.

Where to stay

Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany are convenient bases. An overnight stay in a mountain hut is an option only when its operation has been confirmed and a place reserved.

What to try

Try escudella, trinxat made with potatoes and cabbage, mountain cheese, grilled meat and regional cured meats.
